Peer review process

All manuscripts will be subject to editorial reviews and double-blind peer reviews. Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria for inclusion or are inappropriate will be rejected without external review. Manuscripts deemed worthy of inclusion in the Sabhanga Journal are submitted for formal review. Typically, two experts review each manuscript, but they may be subject to further examination if more specific advice is needed in terms of statistics or techniques. Based on reviewer comments, editors will then accept or reject manuscripts with the following conditions:

    1. Accept and publish, with or without editorial revision,
    2. Invite authors to revise their manuscripts and address certain issues,
    3. Reject such articles directly, usually on the grounds of lack of originality, inadequate conceptual progression, or major technical and/or interpretation issues.

Any changes made to the original manuscript will be clearly stated for review by the author. The authors should carefully examine the sentence structure, completeness, and accuracy of the text, references, tables, and graphic content of the revised manuscript. The Editor-in-Chief will have a final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit articles on all aspects of style, format, and clarity. Manuscripts with excessive errors in any aspect, i.e. spelling or punctuation, the word count will be returned to the author for revision before being resentiful or can be rejected entirely.

Jurnal Sabhanga welcomes the recommendations of reviewers regarding the editing of prospective texts, but in the case of conflicting suggestions from reviewers, the editors will make a final decision on the action. The editor will evaluate the reports of each reviewer, relevant comments made by the author, and other information that may not be available to either party before reaching a decision.
The primary responsibility of Jurnal Sabhanga is for our readers and the scientific community at large, and in deciding how best to serve them, we must assess the validity and reliability of each manuscript against many others that are also being considered.
We may return to reviewers for further advice, especially in cases where they disagree with each other, or where the author believes they have been misunderstood at certain points. Therefore, reviewers should be willing to provide follow-up advice when requested.
Editors are aware that reviewers may be reluctant to be drawn into protracted disputes and will continue to consult to the minimum we think is necessary to provide a fair hearing for the author. When reviewers agree to rate a manuscript, the editor considers this to be a commitment to review the next revision if necessary and the editor will not send the manuscript back to the reviewer if it appears that the author has not made any serious effort to address the initial issue.
Jurnal Sabhanga take feedback and criticism from critics seriously, especially editors who are very reluctant to ignore technical criticism. In cases where one reviewer alone opposes publication, the editor may consult with other reviewers as to whether he or she is applying an overly critical standard.
Editors can sometimes bring in additional reviewers to resolve disputes but we prefer not to do so unless there are specific issues, such as specialist technical issues.
